Use cases

What this looks like in your shop.

Six concrete examples. Pick the one closest to your business. The mechanic is the same. The rules you'd configure are different.

Hair salon

"Half my chairs are empty between 11am and 3pm."

Tue–Thu · 11h–15h · −25%

The voucher

25% off any cut or color, redeemable Tuesday to Thursday between 11:00 and 15:00. Valid 30 days. One per customer.

Why it works

A stylist's hourly cost is fixed. Filling an empty chair at 11:30 on a Tuesday is pure margin. The voucher never reaches Saturday.

Spa

"Weekday mornings I have therapists waiting around."

Mon–Fri · 09h–13h · −30%

The voucher

30% off any massage, redeemable Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 13:00. Valid 45 days.

Why it works

Issued at peak (a Saturday massage), redeemed off-peak (a Wednesday morning). The customer who would have come back at full price still does, and now sometimes brings a friend on a Wednesday too.

Gym or yoga studio

"Membership is steady. Drop-in classes are dead at 2pm."

14h sessions · free class · 21 days

The voucher

Free drop-in class, valid only for the 14:00 sessions, expires in 21 days. Issued to members who finish a peak-hour class.

Why it works

A class with five people instead of one feels alive. Members start to expect it, the 2pm slot fills, you can justify keeping the schedule.

Restaurant

"Tuesday and Wednesday dinners are bleeding money."

Tue–Wed · 19h–22h30 · free dessert

The voucher

Free dessert with any main, redeemable Tuesday or Wednesday between 19:00 and 22:30. Valid 30 days. One per table.

Why it works

Dessert margin is high. The voucher costs you almost nothing per redemption and pulls a full table that orders mains, drinks, the works. You never give it away on a Saturday.

Bakery or pastry shop

"Whatever doesn't sell by closing gets thrown out."

Daily · 18h30–close · −40%

The voucher

40% off everything in the case, redeemable any day between 18:30 and closing. Valid 14 days.

Why it works

Perishable inventory is a clock. A discount on yesterday's pastries is a write-off prevented. The voucher trains regulars to come at the end of the day, which means less waste, less staff scramble at close.

Retail boutique

"End-of-season stock takes up shelf space I need for new arrivals."

Marked-down items · −35% · 21 days

The voucher

35% off marked-down items only, valid any day, expires in 21 days.

Why it works

The discount is targeted to the inventory you actually need to move. New-season pieces stay full price. The customer who took the voucher came in for a new dress and leaves with one new dress and one clearance piece.
